When should I book my newborn session?
It is recommended that you book your session as soon as possible. Most momma's book during their second or third trimester. Booking early
How do you determine my session date?
Your session is booked based off of your due date. Within 48 hours after the birth of your baby, contact Alexa Kiel Photography and an exact session date will be scheduled.
What happens at the pre-session consultation?
You are invited to my home studio in northern Colorado Springs, and this is where we begin your custom portrait experience. We talk about the colors in your home, the decor, and what walls in your home you'd like to display your fine art portraits. The Welcome Packet you will receive, will include information on what to expect during and after your session, what to wear, and a pricing guide.
When will the session take place?
The session typically takes place approximately 5 - 14 days after the arrival of your baby.
Where will the session take place?
Newborn sessions are held in our studio in Colorado Springs.
What do I need to bring to the session?
We provide the props and outfits for your newborn. However, if you have an item that is special to your family that you would like to include in a few pictures, please bring it with you to your session. Please be sure to mention this during your session planning at the pre-session consultation in order to be sure I am prepared to incorporate this special item during the session.
Are you up to date on your vaccinations?
Yes. Your baby's health is the utmost importance, and therefore, I have received and maintain all recommended vaccines.
Do I have to provide the outfits for my child?
No, all outfits and accessories are provided by the studio. Color schemes and styles are predetermined at the pre-session consultation.
How long is the session?
Sessions typically last 3 - 4 hours and includes time for feedings, soothing, and diaper changes.
